When you find a path – a way – “that you love”, something that makes your heart shoot sparks, you want to learn everything about the path that you can.
And when you grow and change from the depth of its teaching, you may find that you want to share it with others. You might find yourself saying, “What I found that works for me is…” Anattasati Magga offers a path for seekers such as these.
A “Program” that teaches the structure and process that they’ve come to love is the Soto Zen structure of Buddhism. And the efforts of these seekers cause the Sangha to live, to be present for all to come to see what Anattasati Magga offers.
So what do these seekers do? They commit to becoming Lay Ministers – to stepping up to what needs to happen if Anattasati Magga is going to continue to offer its teachings to all who find us.
Lay Ministers take on the role of guide and bell ringer for Sangha Services as well the role of incense presenter and offerer. They teach the Word of the Buddha class, https://anattasatimagga.org/practice/classes/, providing basic Buddhist teachings so that Lay Teacher Sujata can offer additional teachings. They greet you when you enter the door of the Meditation Hall and orient you to what Service is happening and help you find a place to sit. They deeply study a particular area of the Dharma and create a class from their study to offer to all Sangha members.
